What to look for in a moving company you want to hire.
Why I've Built Tech for an Industry That Nearly Broke Me

I'v moved 21 times.
That’s not a typo. Twenty-one times — across cities, coasts, countries, dorm rooms, apartments, sublets, startups, and relationships. And the first 19 times, I told myself: “There’s no way it can be as bad as last time.”
And every single time, I was wrong.

I never knew where my truck was. The movers didn’t try to contact me. I always needed to call their office to get updates. They could only accept cash on the spot or had a credit card imprinter from the 90s, and the list goes on.
So in 2019, after two decades of feeling like I was gambling with my life in boxes, I decided to stop accepting it.
That’s why I started Supermove: to help change one of the most broken consumer experiences in America.
What’s Supposed to Be the Beginning Feels Like a Breakdown
Let’s talk about what moving should be.
A new job. A new neighborhood. A new school. A new chapter.
People move because they’re chasing something better. It’s one of the clearest symbols of hope and reinvention we have.
But instead of feeling excited, many people feel overwhelmed, ripped off, and completely in the dark.
We’ve accepted a system where the first step in a new life starts in fear.
That’s not just bad business. It’s wrong.
Arguably the Hardest Job in America
So when we first set out to fix this, we found out immediately why this happens:
Movers have one of the hardest jobs in America.
They lift pianos. Pack priceless heirlooms. Navigate narrow staircases and sweltering weather. They carry their customers’ lives, and do it with grit, skill, and care — but often overlooked, underpaid, and customers rarely care. When they do show gratitude with a small coffee or water bottles on a hot day, it means a ton.
So it’s no surprise moving companies can’t deliver a great customer experience easily. There's too many things that can go wrong.
What started as a personal problem became a personal mission. If we show up for the movers by solving everything that goes wrong in their business, we solve the moving problem.
We believe in a new future where trust is the default, not the exception. One where movers feel proud of their work, rewarded for their effort, and customers feel at ease through the process.
Moving from 1995 to 2025
In every other corner of life, service has evolved.
You can track your dog’s food delivery in real time. You can rate your rideshare driver, get an update from your plumber, and return a shirt without ever leaving the couch.
But when it comes to moving your most valuable possessions like your memories, your heirlooms, your entire life — you get a vague quote, a wide arrival window, and a hope that nothing goes horribly wrong.
Most moving companies are doing the best they can. But they’ve been left behind by tech, starved by pricing pressure, and undermined by bad actors. That’s how you get an industry where everyone loses — the customer and the honest mover alike.
Partnering with Movers to Modernize Moving
At Supermove, we’re helping rebuild the moving experience from the ground up.

We build software that helps the best, hardest working, moving companies in America operate like modern businesses:
- 24/7 Phone System
Moving stress doesn’t stop at 5 PM. When moving, you have questions and needs that come up at night or in the middle of the chaos. Movers can now answer their phones 24/7 and give real answers. No voicemail. - 100% Digital Experience
Everything about your move should be accessible on your phone or laptop. Quotes, contracts, inventory. Simple and paper-free. - Track Your Truck Like Uber
You shouldn't be guessing when your movers will show up. You should have a tracking link, just like you do for a rideshare or delivery. Real-time peace of mind. - Protection Always Offered
You're putting everything you own in someone else's hands. You should know exactly what’s covered and how to get extra protection like valuation coverage. - Real-time Updates
You shouldn’t have to ask what’s happening. Get clear updates throughout the move. Confirmations. Arrival alerts. Reminders. All sent directly to you. - Instant Booking for Small Moves
If it’s a short move, booking shouldn’t feel like a drawn-out process. You should be able to get a quote, do a virtual walkthrough, and confirm everything online in minutes.
We’re giving moving crews the tools they deserve, and giving you, the customer, the peace of mind you’ve never had.
But this isn’t just about logistics or apps. It’s about fixing the root problem. The moving industry will deliver on its promises. We will give back the feeling that moving is about moving forward.

Helping You Set Your Standards the Summer
If you’re moving this summer, I have one simple piece of advice: don’t settle.
Don’t settle for the cheapest option without checking licenses and reviews.
Don’t settle for vague quotes or last-minute surprises.
Don’t settle for a move that feels like a gamble.
Here’s a check-list of what to look for when hiring a moving company.
You deserve to feel excited about your new home — not broken by the process of getting there.
Tracking Down the Nation’s Top Movers
In 2025, I believe Americans deserve better moving experiences. We’re going to help you.
Nationwide Search Underway – Starting June 19
So this summer, Supermove is going undercover and launching a nationwide search to find and celebrate the most elite of the moving industry.
We’re rolling out a covert, coast-to-coast mission to identify and honor the most exceptional movers in the U.S. and Canada. We’re spotlighting the crews who go above and beyond—because moving is hard, essential work, and it’s time the best in the business got the recognition they deserve.
